Thaïs Audic, horn

Thaïs Audic was born in Aix-en-Provence, France, in 2001, which is where they started playing the horn at the age of eight, under the guidance of Renaud Taupinard.

After moving to Paris, where they were taught by Vladimir Dubois and Benjamin Chareyron, they graduated with honours from the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional.

In 2026, they completed their bachelor’s degree at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse in Lyon after three years with Guillaume Tétu, Hugues Viallon and Jean Pincemin as their teachers.

Throughout their studies, they participated in several masterclasses with Fergus McWilliam, Sibylle Mahni and André Cazalet. They also attended ONDIF’s and Lucerne Festival’s academies and worked with several orchestras, including Opéra national de Lyon, Orchestre national de Lyon and Orchestre philharmonique de Paris.

Thaïs is a musician who explores different genres and styles. Their interest in contemporary music has taken them to various projects, from opera creations (such as ›Accabadora‹ by Francesco Filidei) to a tour with avant-garde popstar Rosalía, where they played in the ensemble, and musical improvisation with Roberto Negro’s Ensemble Godot.

They share this interest with their wind quintet, Circæ Quintet, with whom they explore French music by women composers of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Thaïs Audic is a fellow of the GVL – the German Organisation for the Management of Neighbouring Rights.
