Yué Zou, piano
Yué Zou was born in 1996 in Dalian, China. She took her first piano lessons at the age of five. After six years of professional training at the Affiliated High School of China Conservatory of Music, Yué Zou came to Germany at the age of 17. There, she continued her bachelor degree studies at the University of Music in Freiburg with Prof. Gilead Mishory and Tomoko Ogasawara. In July 2018, she graduated with honours. In April 2019, she began studying for a master's degree in piano at the University of Music in Karlsruhe with Prof. Kaya Han, which she completed with distinction in February 2021. From 2021 to 2024, she completed another master's degree in contemporary music and the soloist exam under the supervision of Prof. Markus Stange and Prof. Momo Kodama.
During her studies, Yué Zou developed a particular enthusiasm for contemporary music. She actively collaborated with composition students in the classes of Prof. Johannes Schöllhorn (Freiburg), Prof. Dr. h. c. Wolfgang Rihm and Prof. Markus Hechtle (Karlsruhe), performing both solo and ensemble works. She gained further musical inspiration in masterclasses with renowned pianists such as Pi-hsien Chen, Dmitri Bashkirov, Nicolas Hodges, Piotr Anderszewski, Michael Uhde, Tibor Szasz and many others.
