Li-Ting Tai, piano

Taiwanese pianist Li-Ting Tai (born 1994) received her first piano lessons at the age of five and later also took percussion lessons. From 2009 to 2016, she completed a seven-year musical education at the Tainan National University of the Arts, where she studied with the Russian pianist and composer Mikhail Kollontay. She graduated with a bachelor´s degree in 2016. During this period, she developed a strong interest in contemporary music, which has since become a central aspect of her artistic profile. In 2020, she received her master’s degree at the Hamburg University of Music and Drama in the class of Mauro Lo Conte. She is currently pursuing her studies in the Konzertexamen programme at the Münster University of Music with Clemens Rave. She has participated in masterclasses with An Ning, Alexander Kobrin, Igor Tchetuev, Grigory Gruzman, Eteri Andjaparidze and Susanne Grützmann. In 2012, she was invited to the Lomnické Kulturní Léto festival in Prague and also performed frequently in concerts across Taiwan. Since then, she has performed in Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic and Taiwan. Between 2018 and 2019, she worked as a keyboard assistant at Stage an der Elbe in Hamburg, expanding her pianistic activities. In 2024, she took part in KLANGZEIT WERKSTATT 2024: FIRST CHOICE, a collaborative project of the Münster University of Music and the Society for New Music Münster e.V. Her awards include the Young Pianist Special Award at the International Piano Competition Città di Barletta (Italy, 2018) and the Steinway Förderpreis Münster 2024.
