Cheuk Hin Keith Ng, percussion

Born in Hong Kong in 2000, Cheuk Hin Keith Ng is an up-and-coming percussionist admired for his musical sensitivity and passionate artistry. Through insightful interpretations and storytelling, he creates unique musical experiences that connect deeply with audiences.

He has received international recognition through prizes at major competitions, including 2nd prize at the 2022 TROMP International Percussion Competition, 3rd prize at the 2021 PSM Opole International Marimba Competition, and 2nd prize at the 2020 Prinses Christina Concours. Performance highlights include the IPEA International Percussion Festival in Shanghai, the Amsterdam Marimba Weekend, the Delft Chamber Music Festival, and the TROMP Percussion Festival.

Active in chamber and ensemble music, Cheuk Hin Keith Ng performs with the Bang Percussion Trio and the Amswave Trio at venues such as Grachten Festival and Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ. He has appeared with Asko|Schönberg and the Atlas Ensemble at Het Concertgebouw and Oranjewoud Festival and in 2025 gave the Hong Kong premiere of Ryoji Ikeda’s ›100 Cymbals‹ with Les Percussions de Strasbourg and Toolbox Percussion.

Eager to push boundaries, Keith Ng collaborates closely with composers and has premiered works by Joel Bons, Antek Cholewiński, Raivis Misjuns, Trevor Grahl, Petra Strahovnik, and Thomas Van Dun.

Cheuk Hin Keith Ng began studying percussion at age seven, earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and completed an Erasmus program at the Basel Academy of Music. His teachers include Rachel Zhang, Laurent Warnier, Nancy Zeltsman, Arnold Marinissen, and Christian Dierstein. Beyond music, he enjoys cooking and figure skating.
