Jaroslav Novosyolov, Piano
As a music student in his native city of Kirov (Russia), Jaroslav Novosyolov was a three-time scholarship holder of the Cultural Office of the Kirov City Administration, a winner of the competition ›Russia's Young Talents‹ in Moscow and first-prize winner in several competitions in piano, composition as well as music theory and musicology. Jaroslav Novosyolov's further studies include a degree from the Rimsky-Korsakov Music College, studies at the St. Petersburg Conservatory (with Oleg Malov) and the Bachelor programme in Detmold (with Hartmut Schneider). In Germany he was awarded the Sibylle and Hannes Frank Foundation Scholarship and three times the scholarship of the Society of Friends and Supporters in Detmold. Among many other things, Jaroslav Novosyolov performed with orchestra in the Mariinksy Theatre, at the St. Petersburg Festival of Contemporary Music, at the Konzerthaus Berlin, Konzerthaus Detmold, Sendesaal Bremen and at Festival Voices at Gut Holzhausen. Jaroslav Novosyolov performed and recorded from memory ›Lemma-Icon-Epigram‹ by Brian Ferneyhough and ›Intermezzi‹ by Jörg Widmann and is continuously expanding his repertoire in the field of contemporary music and rarely-performed compositions in general.
