Drew Gilchrist, Clarinet

Drew Gilchrist is an Australian clarinettist. He completed a Bachelor of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University under the tutelage of Paul Dean. His endeavours as an avid chamber musician include appearances with groups such as Ensemble Q and The Southern Cross Soloists and involvement in the Brisbane Music Festival, Bangalow Music Festival, Brisbane Festival, Bellingen Fine Music Festival and Sunshine Coast Chamber Music Festival. He is an occasional clarinettist with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and a member of the Australian Youth Orchestra. He has been a finalist of the Silverstein International Clarinet Competition, won the Queensland Clarinet and Saxophone Inc. Competition twice and received first prize in the Queensland Conservatorium Chamber Music Prize with his group, Ensemble Crucible. Drew Gilchrist has featured as soloist with the Queensland Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra and New South Wales Regional Youth Orchestra and appeared at the ENCORE showcase at the Sydney Opera House.
