Jacobo Diaz Robledillo, Viola
Spanish violist Jacobo Díaz Robledillo (b. 1993 in Ávila) studied with Ashan Pillai for his Bachelor degree at the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu. Following his studies in Barcelona, he moved to Germany to study in the Master Soloist programme with Veit Hertenstein at the Detmold Academy of Music. He has attended solo and chamber music master classes with Nobuko Imai, Garth Knox, Donald McInnes, Roland Glassl, Peijun Xu, Geneviève Strosser, Matthias Buchholz, Ensemble Modern, the Casals Quartet, Ensemble Recherche and Auryn Quartet. His interest in contemporary music led him to work with composers such as Bernhard Lang, Chaya Czernowin and Diego Jimenez Tamame. Jacobo Díaz Robledillo collaborates regularly with orchestras and ensembles such as the Detmold Chamber Orchestra, the Davos Festival Camerata, Ensemble Horizonte, the Grafenegg Academy Orchestra, the Ostrava New Orchestra, playing under the batons of such conductors as Johannes Kalitzke, Holly Hyun Choe, Lautaro Mura, Ustina Dubitsky, Daniel Stabrawa and Francesc Prat. Jacobo Díaz Robledillo has participated in various festivals as a soloist and with ensembles, for example Klangspuren Schwaz New Music Festival in Tyrol, the Davos Festival Young Artists in Concert, the Ostrava Days Festival, the Allegro Vivo Festival and the Frakzionen Festival.
