Caique Sant'anna, Trumpet
Born in São Paulo (Brazil), Caique Sant'anna (*1994) is a versatile trumpeter with great experience in symphonic orchestras, soloist, Brazilian popular music, baroque music with period instruments and contemporary music. He started with the trumpet at the age of 11 in his school's marching band. Later, at 14, he began his studies at the São Paulo State Music School and went through the main youth orchestras in São Paulo. In 2017, during the Festival de Inverno de Campos do Jordão, he was awarded the Eleazar de Carvalho prize with a scholarship at the OSESP (São Paulo Symphony Orchestra) Academy. A little later he was awarded a DAAD scholarship for a Master's degree at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin, where he has studied with William Forman since 2018 and a great interest in contemporary and baroque music was awakened. In recent years Caique Sant’anna has worked with several important groups in Germany and abroad, such as the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Kammerakademie Potsdam, Echo Ensemble Berlin, Deutsches Kammerorchester Berlin, Berliner Symphoniker, the Russian-German Music Academy, the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra and others.
