Sergi Bayarri Sancho, Clarinet
Sergi Bayarri Sancho is a Spanish clarinettist and bass clarinettist. He was born in 1994 in Rafelbunyol, a small village near València. He began his studies in music at the age of five. In his youth he attended classes with Jose Vicente Mañes, and in 2018 completed his Bachelor studies with Emilio Ferrando at the Conservatori Superior de Música de València, finishing with honours in Chamber Music. He has participated in master classes and courses with great clarinettists such as Juan Esteban Romero, David Martínez, Joan Enric Lluna, José Vicente Herrera or Julian Farrell. He has been part of orchestras and youth orchestras such as the Jove Orquestra Simfònica del Vallés, Orquesta Filharmónica de Castilla La Mancha, and nowadays is a member of the Jove Orquestra de la Generalitat Valenciana and Jove Orquestra Simfònica de la FSMCV. Sergi Bayarri Sancho has interpreted solo pieces by Weber, Rossini or Mozart in auditoriums like Palau de la Música de València. Between 2008 and 2018 he won more than fifteen prizes in chamber music competitions around Spain, with different groups. Some of the most important are with the clarinet quartet Quartet Ad Libitum, with which he has played since 2013. The most remarkable prizes are a 4th prize at the I Ciclo de Música de Cámara Las Provincias, a 2nd prize at the Concurso de Música de Cámara Higini Anglés de Reus, a 2nd prize at the XVII Concurs Internacional Ciutat de Vinaròs organized by Joventuts Musicals, as well as a 2nd prize at the XV Concurso de Música de Cámara Ecoparque de Trasmiera. This last prize with the Quartet Ad Libitum led to an invitation to the group for a concert at the 66th International Festival of Santander. Sergi Bayarri Sancho plays regularly at contemporary music festivals around Spain.
