Robin Kirklar, Viola
Robin Kirklar began playing viola at the age of six. He subsequently trained at the Dijon Conservatory in France. In 2012 he moved to Paris to further his musical education before enrolling at the Superior Conservatory of Lyon (CNSMD). He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from there in 2016. As part of an exchange programme with the University of Montréal, Canada, he studied with Jutta Puchhammer-Sédillot, among others. During this time, he dedicated himself to contemporary music with great interest, before moving back to France in 2017 to complete his master’s degree. During his studies, he already had the opportunity to work with well-known composers and instrumentalists, for example Garth Knox, Philippe Hurel and Pierre Fournier. He gathered additional orchestral experience by playing with the Orchestra Victor Hugo Franche-Comté, the Orchestre Français des Jeunes and the Orchestre de Lyon. There, he worked with conductors such as Eliahu Inbal, Jean-Français Verdier, Dennis Russell Davies and David Zinman.
