Ona Ramos Tintó, Horn
Ona Ramos was born in Barcelona in 1993. At the age of eight she received her first horn lesson. She was a student of Ruben Chordá at the specialist music school Oriol Martorell, as well as the Barcelona Conservatoire from 2005 to 2011. During that time she also became a member of the JONC (Youth National Orchestra of Catalonia), received the 1st prize in the Chamber music competition Acordes 2009 from Caja Madrid (a Spanish youth music competition), and appeared as a soloist with the school orchestra. In 2011, she was a finalist in the International Horn Competition Federico II di Svevia in Sannicandro di Bari (youth category). Ona Ramos then continued her music studies with Will Sanders at the Karlsruhe Music Academy, where she graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor's degree of Art and Education at the top of her class. During her undergraduate years, she also received a DAAD scholarship (UNIBRAL) to take part in a German-Brazilian Exchange program, which allowed her to study at the College EMUFRJ in Rio de Janeiro for a semester. Since 2015, she has been studying for a Master’s degree at the Weimar Music Academy with Jörg Brückner.
In the last few years, Ona Ramos has gained great orchestral experience, playing with orchestras such as the Baden-Baden Philharmonic, the Hof Symphony Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Weimar and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Erfurt. She has participated in the AndechserORFF® Academy of the Munich Radio Orchestra, the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and the Academy of the Jena Philharmonic Orchestra.
Over the years she has taken part in numerous master classes led by renowned horn players including Sarah Willis, Eric Terwilliger, Stefan Dohr, Hermann Baumann, Szabolcs Zempléni and Christian Friedrich Dallmann, among others.
Since 2018 Ona Ramos has been a member of the Committee of the "Associació Catalana de Trompistes" (French Horn Association of Catalonia), where she gives master classes and performs as a soloist regularly.
