Nathan Watts, Violoncello
Cellist Nathan Watts is dedicated to making classical music accessible to all audiences. As a Young Artist in the Da Camera of Houston he participated in the ›Beethoven For All‹ series in which the complete Beethoven quartets were presented in free concerts around the city of Houston. Being a Young Artist also allowed him to bring music to a large variety of venues from classrooms to art galleries. Nathan Watts has been a core member of ›Kinetic The Conductorless Ensemble‹, a Houston-based 16 piece string orchestra dedicated to high energy and innovative live performances. He has also performed with the ensemble Loop 38 focused on bringing new music to the heart of Houston. Participation in music festivals include the Aspen Music Festival, the Tanglewood Music Center, the Lucerne Festival Academy, the Caroga Lake Music Festival, and the Pacific Music Festival. Nathan Watts is originally from the Philadelphia area and holds a Bachelor of Music from the Cleveland Institute of Music studying with Stephen Geber and a Master of Music from Rice University with Desmond Hoebig.
