Laura Hovestadt, Viola
Originally from Karlsruhe, Laura Hovestadt received her first viola lessons at the age of six. In 2016 she completed her Bachelor studies with Matthias Buchholz at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Cologne. During this time, she gained broad orchestral experience, including via an internship at the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne. In 2014 she studied for one year with David Gaillard at the renowned Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique in Paris, where she also received chamber music instruction from the Quatuor Ebène, Trio Wanderer, Jean Sulem and Claire Desert. She has participated in master classes at the Pablo Casals Festival and the Festival La Roque d’Anthéron, as well as the Klangspuren International Ensemble Modern Academy in Schwaz. In 2016 she took up studying for a Master’s degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where Marjolein Dispa and Nobuko Imai are her teachers.
