Klangspuren Schwaz 2012

For the 9th time the INTERNATIONAL ENSEMBLE MODERN ACADEMY takes place within the framework of KLANGSPUREN Schwaz Tirol – festival of contemporary music. With the presence of renowned composers such as Helmut Lachenmann, György Kurtág, Wolfgang Rihm, Michael Gielen, Steve Reich, Johannes Maria Staud, Martin Matalon, Heinz Holliger or George Benjamin this master class is an intense challenge for the next generation of musicians.

In 2012 composer Unsuk Chin is the composer in residence. Together with the Ensemble Modern teachers, conductor Bradley Lubman and the participants she will work on a challenging programme for two concerts during the KLANGSPUREN festival.

The call for applications is specifically targeted toward young musicians who are fully aware of the unique challenges presented by the music of the 20th and 21st century and are in the final stages of their training.

The application period ends on 30 April 2012 (date of postmark).
