Kulturstiftung des Bundes
The German Federal Cultural Foundation promotes art and culture within the scope of federal competence. One of its main priorities is to support innovative programmes and projects on an international level. To achieve this, the Foundation invests in projects which develop new methods of fostering cultural heritage and tap into the cultural and artistic potential of knowledge required for addressing social issues. The Federal Cultural Foundation also focuses on cultural exchange and cross-border cooperation by initiating projects of its own and funding project proposals in all areas of the arts with no stipulations as to theme or subject.
We have represented the interests of performing artists and producers of sound recordings since 1959. Our philosophy is that those who render artistic performances or create a financial basis for them must receive money for the exploitation of their performances. Here at GVL, Gesellschaft zur Verwertung von Leistungsschutzrechten mbH, we capture and manage such exploitations.
In 2000 the Allianz Kulturstiftung came into being. In keeping with its main objective, the Allianz Kulturstiftung supports broadly conceived educational and cultural projects, which benefit the European integration process and encourage the development of a European identity. An important target group for the foundation’s work is the new generation of scholars and artists for whom the foundation has developed a series of exchange and encounter-related projects. The Allianz Kulturstiftung is active on a supportive as well as operative level. The foundation's activities focus on the areas of literature, translation, and Europe’s intellectual development, but also on New music and contemporary art.
“Art and Nature“ are the central focus of the activities of the ALTANA Kulturstiftung (Cultural Foundation). One of its major goals is to develop an awareness of the importance of both and of our responsibility towards nature – through a dialogue with art. Under the title of the “Studio of Art and Nature” the foundation also offers an interdisciplinary programme for children and young people. Here the focus is always on directly encountering art and artists. Visual art, music, and literature can thus be experienced in a manner that will make a lasting impression on all of the senses. In addition to communicating with young people through the platform of the museum, we are also engaged in long-term partnerships with kindergartens, schools and universities.
