Alexander Kolb, born 1988 in Aschaffenburg, Germany, studied Arts, Music and Media at the Philipps University in Marburg between 2008 and 2011. He then received his audio-engineering degree at the University of Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf in 2014. Currently he works as a freelancer for Hessian Radio (Hessischer Rundfunk). There he is responsible for music productions and concerts by the Frankfurt Radio Symphony, the Frankfurt Radio Bigband and Ensemble Modern. As a student he has already worked as a music producer and live sound designer in almost every genre. He also works on projects outside his radio work: for example, he is the sound designer for the electronic music formation MIUMI based in Wiesbaden, Germany. He first developed an interest in music during high school as a self-taught guitar player. Today he sees knobs, faders, electric circuits and computer programmes as musical instruments.
