A native of California, Jessica Ling has performed extensively throughout the United States, South America, Canada, and Europe, where she has worked with members from the Vienna Philharmonic, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Australian Chamber Orchestra, Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, and Camerata Nordica. She has worked under notable conductors and artists including Sir Mark Elder, Riccardo Muti, Charles Dutoit, Michael Tilson Thomas, Jaap van Zweden, Osmo Vanska, Vadim Repin, Jessye Norman, and Yo-Yo Ma. Her interest in contemporary music began during her undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley where she played with the resident new music group Eco Ensemble and collaborated with local and student composers. Since then, she has taken part in the Klangspuren International Ensemble Modern Academy as well as the Impuls Festival.
Jessica has participated in festivals including the Spoleto Festival, Banff, Youth Orchestras of the Americas, Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme, Attergau Institute, Aurora Chamber Music, Teatro del Lago, Orchestre de la Francophonie, Yehudi Menuhin Chamber Music, NJO Dutch Orchestral and Ensemble Academy, and Fontainebleau. She served as principal second and as a community engagement ensemble member in the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. In addition, she has played with the New World Symphony and Orchestra Iowa. Jessica completed her graduate studies at the Northwestern University Bienen School of Music under the tutelage of Almita Vamos.
