Kija Cho, Clarinet

Kija Cho was born in Seoul, South Korea, in 1984. Her musical education began at the age of ten, when she began playing the piano; she took up the clarinet at the Chungnam Art High School at the age of 17. After successfully completing a degree at the Kyoung Won University in Seoul, she studied with Thomas Lindhorst at the Music Academy in Detmold.
She has performed in her home country as a soloist with various orchestras and won several prizes at competitions. Her great passion is chamber music. She has participated in the International Chamber Music Summer Academy in Frenswegen, where she worked intensively with Hans-Dietrich Klaus and Oliver Wille. During her studies in Detmold she gave numerous concerts with the Trio Energico. Kija Cho has been a member of the Detmold Chamber Orchestra since 2010.
