Haesung Yoon, Piano

Haesung Yoon was born in Seoul, Korea, and graduated from the Art Middle School (main subject: piano) and the Seoul Art High School (main subject: piano). During this time, she also studied with Chung-Mo Kang at the Korean National University of the Arts. From 2005 o 2010 she studied with Gerald Fauth at the Academy of Music and Theatre “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” in Leipzig. In 2012 she received her performance degree from the Academy of Music and Dance in Cologne, where she studied with Richard Braun. In Korea she won numerous awards; in Germany her awards include the “Virtuosin” Prize and the first prize at the “Munich Youth Piano Podium” at the Munich International Piano Competition in 2007. In 2009 she also won the first prize at the European Music Competition in Moncalieri, Italy, and the first prize at the Concorso Internazionale Valsesia Musica Premio Monterosa Kawai in Varallo, Italy.
Haesung Yoon has performed as a soloist in Seoul, Salzburg, Munich, Bayreuth, Gräfelfing, Murrhardt, Leipzig and Cologne, and at the Ruhr Piano Festival, and with orchestra at the concert halls in Riesa, Greiz/Reichenbach and Cologne. In 2011 her playing was broadcast by Deutschlandfunk as part of the New Music Forum. Since 2013 she has been a member of the New Music ensemble “Ensemble Eins”.
