Galdric Subirana, Percussion

Galdric Subirana, born 1989 in the South of France, started at the age of four with making music. At the Conservatoire de Perpignan he studied in the class of Philipp Spiesser and discovered the world of percussion. At the age of fourteen he made his Diplôme d'études musicales in classical percussion and attended courses for piano, percussion, Jazz, chamber music and analysing. 2007 he was admitted in the class of Jean Geoffrey at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Lyon. Since then he play constantly with the Orchestre National de Lyon and at the Opéra de Lyon. His interest in dance increased after he received his license d'interprète and he created the performance »Un son, un geste : un mouvement« (»Ein Klang, eine Geste : eine Bewegung«) during his Master studies.
Galdric Subirana won prizes at the international Competions Clermont-Ferrand and Paris, was a semifinalist at the Concours de Genève (2012) and second runner-up at the TROMP-Competition in Eindhoven. He is member of the Ensemble Mésostics (founded in 2009) and since 2013 award winner of the Yamaha Music Foundation. 2011 he played in the »Pli selon pli European Tour« with the Ensemble Intercontemporain under the conducting of Pierre Boulez.
