Shelly Ezra

Born in Israel, 1985, Shelly was a student in the class of Sabine Mayer and Reiner Wehle at the Academy for Music Luebeck, Germany, 2003-2010. In addition, she received chamber-music lessons with Diethelm Jonas. 2006-2007 she studied as an exchange student at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Joy Farrall. 2011 she was accepted for soloists-class at the Music academy of Weimar, in the class of Martin Spangenberg. Shelly's first acquainted with Professor Yitzhak Kazap was the reason for her falling in love with the instrument and under his tuition graduated with honors from the Israeli Conservatory for Music Tel-Aviv.
Shelly won the third prize in the ARD International Competition in Munich (2008), the first prize in Braunschweig Classix Festival Mozart 2006 competition, special Prize in the International Clarinet Competition in Freiburg (2010), Third Prize in European Chamber-Music Competition (2011), the Possehl Music-Prize (2009), the August-Everding Prize in »Grosser Foerderpreiswettbewerb der Konzertgesellschaft Munich« international competition (2005), the first prize soloist scholarship from the Israeli conservatory for music Tel-Aviv, the »Marie-Louise-Imbusch« Foundation prize, the »Karin-Schuetz« Scholarship, the »Gotthard-Schierse« Foundation prize, and won the »Deutsche Musikleben Hamburg« scholarship and the America Israel Cultural Foundation Scholarships both as a soloist (with honors) and as a chamber music performer. Shelly was a member of the young musicians unit of the Jerusalem Music Center- »Mishcanot Sha'ananim«, nowadays she’s a scholar of the »Villa Musica« Ensemble and Yehudi Menuhin Foundation »Live Music Now«.
Shelly played as a soloist with the Bavarian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Camber-Orchestra of Munich, the Classical Philharmonic Bonn, the Jena Philharmonic, Camerata Moravia Prague, the Israeli Chamber Orchestra, and the Symphony orchestra of the Israeli conservatory for music Tel-Aviv. In addition, she performed at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Classix-Festival Braunschweig, Brahms Festival, and the Cesky Krumlov International Music Festival.
As a passionate chamber-musician she had the pleasure to work with some of the leading artists in the field, such as Quatour Ysaye, Apollon Musagete Quartet, Psophos Quartet, Eisler Quartet, Menahem Pressler, Sabine Meyer, David Walter, Radovan Vlatkovic, Martin Ostertag, Rainer Kussmauel, Christian Lampert, Diethelm Jonas and Ingo Goritzki.
In addition, she recorded for the NDR and MDR radio station and for the Israeli classical radio station- »The Voice of Music«.
Shelly takes part in master-classes with Charles Neidich, Karl-Heinz Steffens, Anthony Pay, Sharon Kam, Joerg Widmann, Nicolas Cox, Hakan Rosengren, Norbert Kaiser, Eli Even, Menachem Wisenberg and Hagai Shacham.
