Jonathan Wettermark, Trombone

Jonathan Wettermark was born in Enånger in Northen Sweden in 1986. As a child he started his music education at the local librarys listening through their CD-collections. This made the first foundations for a broad musical interest, and led to a continuous urge for new musical inspirations. As a trombonist he has played in a wide range of genres, including Ska, Rock, Jazz and Pop.

He received his bachelor degree in classical music from the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg in 2010, where he studied with Prof. Ingemar Roos. In 2011 he was awarded a Master of Music with distinction from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where he studied with Prof. John Kenny.
Jonathan has performed with several orchestras and ensembles through out Scandinavia and Europe. Notably the Baltic Youth Philharmonic, which he has been a member of since the foundation of the orchestra in 2008, and the London Sinfonietta Academy of which he was a member in 2011.
During his studies he has performed as soloist with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg.

Jonathan’s main artistic interests lie in innovative collaborations with composers, performers and other artists in the creation of new compositions and artworks.
