Carolin Ralser, Flute

Carolin studied music performance (flute) as well as music education at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria (with Dieter Flury, Solo flute of the Vienna Philharmonic), at the Conservatoire in Freiburg i. Br. (with Felix Renggli) and at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (Chamber Music with Gottfried Johannes Pokorny). She completed her master studies in performance and education with distinction.
In 2007 Carolin won the first prize at the International Competition for flute, ‚Friedrich Kuhlau‘ and received scholarships of the Angelika Prokopp Foundation of the Vienna Philharmonics Summer Academy, of the Orchestra Academy Ossiach and of the International Ensemble Modern Academya. She performs actively at several festivals and concerts, for example with the International Orchestra Institute Attergau, with the Orchestra of ‚Musik Theater Schönbrunn‘, with the Symphonic Orchestra Innsbruck, the Vienna Imperial Orchestra, with the ‚ kapelle für neue musik windkraft‘ as well as with Orchestras of the ‚Wiener Staatsoper‘ and of the ‚Salzburger Festspiele‘. She travelled many parts of Europe and Asia for opera projects and chamber music.
Her deep interest in contemporary and experimental music was raised by numerous master classes with inspiring flutists, like Jacques Zoon, Peter Lukas Graf and Robert Aitken, as well as the Ensemble Modern, the ensemble recherche and the ‚Klangforum Wien‘. In addition she increasingly deals with physiology in music, Alexander Technique and she works as actress in different theatreplays, improvisations and musiktheatre projects.
