Matthew Conley was born in Cincinnati, OH in 1986. He holds a B.M. from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and recently completed a Master’s degree in Solo Performance at McGill University where he studied with renowned pedagogue Edward Carroll. Additionally, he has studied intensively with Markus Stockhausen and Stephen Burns and has spent four consecutive summers at the Center for Advanced Musical Studies at Chosen Vale.
In the summer of 2010 he participated in the Lucerne Festival Academy under the artistic direction of Pierre Boulez. In the year prior he performed as part of the International Ensemble Modern Academy in Schwaz, Austria, conducted by Franck Ollú.
Deeply committed to contemporary music, Matthew has worked with notable composers such as Matthias Pintscher, Martin Matalon, and Johannes Maria Staud.
