After brilliantly finishing his violin and viola studies with resp. Veronique Bogaerts and Thérèse-Marie Gilissen at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and the Queen Elisabeth College of Music, Vincent Hepp engages in a career both as a violinplayer as well as a violaplayer. He won several prices in national (Vieuxtemps 2006, De Beriot 1993) and international competitions (Gdansk 2006).
His special interest in contemporary music makes him work with ensembles like the Ictus Ensemble and the Aton Ensemble. This interest is acknowledged when he receives the "Pelemans" -price in 2008 from SABAM for his efforts in contemporary belgian music; moreover, in 2010 he was awarded a scholarship to take part in the International Ensemble Modern Academy in Frankfurt. His passion for chamber music took form when he became the viola player of the Kryptos Quartet, with whom he studied with the Artemis Quartett in the Queen Elisabeth College of Music and with the Alban Berg Quartett in the Musikhochschule Köln, and got a 2nd Prize in the 2008 Chostakovich Competition in Moscow; freelance activities in most leading chamber music ensembles in Belgium completed this passion.
Vincent Hepp is currently assistant of Véronique Bogaerts at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.
Vincent specially wants to thank Mr. Yves d’Hanens who is lending him a beautiful “I.B. Roggerius” violin.
