Anna voor de Wind

Anna voor de Wind was born in Groningen (Netherlands) in 1986. She studied clarinet at the Amsterdam Conservatory with Hans Colbers and bass clarinet with Erik van Deuren. She finished her Master studies in june 2010 with the utmost distinction. She has won prizes in national and international competitions.

Since 2003 she has a duo with Annemeke Boot, together they have been successful in various international chambermusic competitions.

Anna played with several professional orchestras and the Nieuw Ensemble. She was part of the Europan Youth Orchestra (EUYO) and played several times with the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands. In Summer 2008 and 2009 she took part in the Summer Academy of the Ensemble Modern. At the same time, Anna also played in the Ligeti Academy, an academy by the Asko/Schoenberg.

In summer of 2010, Anna has been invited by the National Youth Orchestra as Young Artist in Residence. She worked together with composer Mark-Anthony Turnage, who wrote her a solo piece. On that occasion she also made her debut as a soloist with the Nielsen concerto.
