Gerald Golka, Sound Director

Gerald Golka was born in Stuttgart, Germany in 1981. He studied School Music, Music Theory and New Media under Bernd Asmus, Rainer Wehinger and Ulrich Süße at the College of Music in Stuttgart. After receiving his diploma in summer 2007, he began practical training as a sound engineer under Ulrich Vette and Jürg Jecklin at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.

Gerald Golka has worked as sound director for numerous concerts, for example at the Theater an der Wien and for events at the documenta XII in Kassel. In addition to working as a sound engineer and sound director, Golka creates interactive media installations and researches in the cross-disciplinary area between information science and art. In the summer semester 2009, he stood in as acting professor for Computer Music and Media Practice at the College of Music in Stuttgart.
