Sharon Polyak, Horn

Sharon Polyak was born in Israel in 1982. He studied at the Academy of Arts in Berlin under Prof. Christian Dallmann and was also a member of the Academy of the Staatskapelle Berlin. He has received scholarships from both the America-Israel Culture Foundation and the Barenboim-Said Foundation.

In addition to participating at festivals in Germany, France, and Jerusalem, he is a member of the East-West Divan Orchestra, conducted by Daniel Barenboim, for which he has performed solos and recorded a DVD. He has performed solos for the Munich Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Israel Symphony Orchestra. In December 2005 he collaborated with Daniel Barenboim in a chamber music concert in New York. He is also a member of the World Peace Orchestra, conducted by Valery Gergiev. In summer 2009 Polyak participated in the Lucerne Festival Academy, conducted by Pierre Boulez.
