Joonas Artur Seppelin, Horn

Joonas Seppelin (*born in Hanko, Finland in 1982) is studying at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki under Prof. Timo Ronkainen after training at the Polytechnic University of Helsinki under Esa Tapani. He attended the master classes of Bruno Schneider, Herman Baumann, Radovan Vlatkovitch, Andrej Glukhov, Markus Maskuniitty, Thomas Jöbstl and Javier Bonet.

Joonas Seppelin played from 2004 to 2005 as well as in spring 2007 as the first horn player in the Lapland Chamber Orchestra, in fall 2005 as the second horn in the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and as an assistant musician in most Finnish orchestras. In 2004 he won the first prize in the National Chamber Music Competition in Savonlinna, in 2008 the third and press prize in the International Woodwind Quintet Competition in Lyon and was among the eight finalists with the wind quintet Fantasia in the 2006 ARD Music Competition.
