Yuko Fukumae, Clarinet

Yuko Fukumae (*born in Shiga, Japan in 1983) studied under Sumio Yamakawa at the Ishiyama Senior High School in Shiga. She went on to study under Tomomi Takahashi at the Arts Academy in Kyoto where she completed her bachelor’s degree with distinction. After this she studied under Prof. Johannes Peitz at the Hanover Academy of Music and Theater graduating in 2008. Since then she has studied chamber music there under Prof. Markus Becker.

Yuko Fukumae attended the master classes of Wenzel Fuchs, François Benda, Sharon Kam and Martin Spangenberg. In 2007 she was one of the finalists in the Bayreuth International Music Competition and in 2008 she participated in the Orchestra Academy of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. Since 2008 she has pursued her graduate soloist studies at the Hanover Academy of Music and Theater.
