Agnieszka Koprowska-Born (*born in Warsaw in 1978) studied at the Warsaw and Stuttgart music academies. Since 2006 she has been preparing for her concert examinations at the Academy of Music and Performing Art in Frankfurt am Main under Professor Rainer Römer.
As young musician she has won several prizes in international competitions – such as 2nd prize in the percussion competition in Brno in the Czech Republic in 1999, the Radio Krakov Special Prize in the 5th International Krzysztof Penderecki Competition for Contemporary Chamber Music in 2001 as well as in the international competition TROMP in Eindhoven, the Netherlands in 2006. In the same year she was prizewinner in the 10th International Competition for Contemporary Chamber Music in Krakow. Her work was promoted in 2001 with a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD and in 2004 with a scholarship from the Cultural Foundation of the Limburg savings bank Kreissparkasse Limburg. In 2005 she was accepted on the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation’s »live music now« scheme.
As a chamber musician and soloist Agnieszka Koprowska-Born has performed at numerous New Music festivals: Musica Polonica Nova in Wroclaw, the Witold Lutoslawski Forum in Warsaw, the Rheinsberger Musiktage, the International Percussion Festival in Warsaw as well as the Warsaw Autumn and has collaborated with the Percussionensemble Stuttgart, the Warsaw Percussion Ensemble and the Polish Radio Orchestra as well as in concerts performed by Villa Musica Rheinland-Pfalz.
