Lefki Karpodini

Born in Athens. Graduated with distinction from Athens conservatoire. Received Bachelor of music, Postgraduate Diploma and Master's from Guildhall School in London. She has received awards and scholarships such as:1st price in Filon Piano competition, 1st price in Schubert competition (GSMD), sir Henry Richardson Award, 3-year Scholarship from the Greek National Institution, for lessons with Maria Joao Pires, for Banff Centre, Schleswig-Holstein and others. She has played in festivals in Canada, Germany, Greece, England, France, Israel, Switzerland. She has recorded live for BBCRadio3 and performed in major halls such as Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room, St.John's Smith Square, Bolivar Hall etc. She appeared twice in the Park Lane Series for contemporary music in Purcell Room in London and she has worked with various composers and premiered pieces in England and Greece. She performs as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist. In May 2006 she will have her solo debut recital in Carnegie's Hall Weill recital Series, in New York. Since October she lives in Berlin.
