Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (HfMDK) is the only university of music, drama and dance in the German state of Hesse. It offers training to young instrumentalists and teachers of music, singers, composers and conductors, dancers, directors and actors. It is the goal of the HfMDK to train its students to the highest levels of excellence and also to make a contribution to cultural education in general. Networking with cultural life in Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main conurbation is a central aspect of the University's profile and, with over two hundred public events each year, it is also an important source of cultural inspiration.

Applied Theatre Studies (Drama Theatre Media) at the Justus-Liebig-University Giessen stands out due to its combination of practise and theory. The main interest is in theatrical research as well on a scientific as on a theatrical-practical basis. Thus the study is composed of theoretical seminars and lectures and of practical courses and performance projects under the baton of guest professors
